EXTENDED ART AND THE COMMUNITY NARRATIVE
While living in Waseca, Minnesota, I was a member of the Waseca Art council. I exhibited at the
gallery there and sold my crafts through their store. I have also donated my art to an auction to raise
funds for the Waseca art council
I became a member of NEMAA The Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association and have had my
paintings shown in the Northrup King Building and the Grain Belt bottling house in Minneapolis.
I currently have some of my Crafts (Nesting Dolls) at the Artist Mercantile in Downtown St. Paul, 24
West 7th Place.
My main body of work consists of abstract paintings and I mainly work in Acrylics and Oils with
mixed media. I like to use sand, glass beads, paper, broken mirrors and much more in my work.
I think my paintings show the curiosity and wonderment that I feel while painting. I also try to
bring out the tactile and 3 dimensional aspect to my work so people feel the need to touch the work.
In my crafts I work with wood, glass and metal. My themes are primarily seasonal (Christmas,
Halloween, Easter), but I also like ethnic and historic themes (Asian, Victorian). I also make my own
jewelry and do embroidery.
